Satay Tofu Barbecue
Perfect Sunday treatment served with purple cabbage salad & roasted mushrooms with herbs.
Ingredients
- fresh tofu
- tahini sauce
- coconut milk
- brown sugar
- dark soy sauce
- crushed garlic
- curry powder
- star anise
- lemon juice
Directions
- Press the tofu to reduce water content in the tofu
- Mix tahini sauce, coconut milk, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, curry powder, star anise and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Simmer gently over a low heat for 5 minutes or until thick. Stir often to ensure the satay sauce doesn’t stick to the base of the pan.
- Remove the star anise before serving.
- Marinate pressed tofu in the sauce and barbecue/oven bake for about 15 minutes
- Add extra sauce on top and serve with spring onion, purple cabbage salad & roasted mushrooms.
