Satay Tofu Barbecue

Perfect Sunday treatment served with purple cabbage salad & roasted mushrooms with herbs.

Ingredients

  • fresh tofu
  • tahini sauce
  • coconut milk
  • brown sugar
  • dark soy sauce
  • crushed garlic
  • curry powder
  • star anise
  • lemon juice

Directions

  1. Press the tofu to reduce water content in the tofu
  2. Mix tahini sauce, coconut milk, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, curry powder, star anise and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Simmer gently over a low heat for 5 minutes or until thick. Stir often to ensure the satay sauce doesn’t stick to the base of the pan.
  3. Remove the star anise before serving.
  4. Marinate pressed tofu in the sauce and barbecue/oven bake for about 15 minutes
  5. Add extra sauce on top and serve with spring onion, purple cabbage salad & roasted mushrooms.
